Mainly the Gangtok tour starts from New Jalpaiguri(NJP)/Siliguri. These two places are situated at north Bengal. So for Coming to Gangtok, you have to come first at NJP/ Siliguri. It will take 4-5 hrs to reach Gangtok from NJP/Siliguri by car.
Gangtok is situated in the Shivalik Hills of the Eastern Himalayan Range at an altitude of 4700 ft. It is the largest town of Sikkim and the major tourist center of Sikkim. Now a days Gangtok has become a huge crowded town. Thousands of hotels and houses are being made in the last few years. There are several big markets in the town.
